PROJECT OVERVIEW.

Callum from Lightning Garage Door Solutions

hired me as a freelancer to conduct the necessary research, and rewrite all of the content for their new website. This project involved in-depth keyword research and competitor research, and extensive content creation.

THE CHALLENGE.

There were a few challenges present throughout this project, which had to be taken into consideration during the research and content creation phases:

  • A large number of local competitors across Newcastle and other surrounding towns/suburbs.

  • The large volume of content that had to be created.

  • The array of pages across various service offerings (ie electrical and security), and service areas.

  • Ensuring structure and internal linking was logical, lending to better performance over time.

THE RESULTS.

MORE ORGANIC TRAFFIC

A strong uptick in organic clicks for non-branded search queries (for example, security camera installation Newcastle’). This was achieved through smart use of a variety of local keywords spread across the main service pages and location pages. We also saw strong improvement across a wide range of other queries.

LOCAL MAP PACK RANKINGS

Top 3 rankings on local map pack for a range of different electrical and security-related queries. This helps to increase direct calls from Google search results page from users who spot up the listing right away.

LOCAL KEYWORDS

A strong focus on local area service pages has seen positive rankings for a range of keywords, such as ‘access control systems Port Stephens’. Ensuring Fortify is at the top of the results page for specific queries like this means they’re more likely to get jobs from clients in the areas they want.
